Why understand autism?

Updated: Feb 20

When you communicate in a way an autistic person struggles to understand, this can cause stress and anxiety for them and result in behaviours of concern... If you support or care for a person on the autism spectrum autistic individuals, they're communicating to you all of the time with:

  •  Visual Language

  • Tactile Language

  • Kinaesthetic Language

  • Auditory Language

  • Smell Language

  • Taste Language

Each behaviour is a communication and there's a reason why it happens.   That's why it's essential to understand autism to best support autistic individuals. We need to identify their language and communicate with them in this way. Professor, Mother, Author, Lecturer and Consultant in Autism, Dr. Olga Bogdashina shares practical ways you can do this, in our online training courses. Her presentation is called: Language and Communication Issues in Autism. Let's Talk About Talking

You can boost your autism support skills today with our accredited online training courses tailored for parents, professionals and autistic individuals.
